I have been taking photographs since 1982, when I got my first "real"
camera (a Pentax K-1000) for graduation. I went on to attend the
University of Montevallo, where my hobby quickly became a passion.
While working on my degree, I started doing portraits and weddings
for friends. Since then, I have continued to do portraits and weddings,
but I have also been exhibiting my work at arts & craft shows; a local
coffee shop (Le' Reunion) and in the homes of many of my friends and
family.
I have also been able to combine two of my loves in volunteering to do
photographs for both Do-Dah-Day and T.E.A.R.S. I have shot photo's
for the Susan G. Komen Run; the Asthma Run & APT Television. I
believe it's very important to give back to the community and especially
to things that hit close to home.
Photographs make memories, so that when we forget, they remind us.
Like a close up of just my father's hand with my 3yr old nephews hand in it.
Or the first time a groom sees his bride and he starts to cry. Small things, like
hands, eyes, little feet. Things that remind us of someone special
and/or a time in our life that we never want to forget. I love capturing
those memories.
